A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. What a story. She was a French orphan, and grew to become the most influential fashion figure in the twentieth century. Before Chanel, women of the Belle Epoque wore corsets and clothes so highly structured that they could hardly get out of a carriage. Just in time for the automobile, Chanel invented sportswear, literally borrowing sporting clothes from her boyfriends, like sailor shirts, trousers and tweed jackets. She fashioned women's clothes out of wool jersey, which had previously been used for men's underwear. On to it she piled fake jewelry, faux pearls, which had been unheard of. It was called "poor chic".Besides the clothes, she revolutionized the way women looked, popularizing the sun tan, bobbed hair, and red lipstick. Her perfume Chanel No. 5, sold in a glass cube that still looks modern today, is the number one selling fragrance in the world.

She was a genius, a fashion designer who expressed the modern age in her work, just as Picasso, Diaghilev, Stravinsky and Hemingway, who were her friends, did in their respective arts. Her clothes were natural and easy, and followed the line of the body. I want to say, athletic. What she created was timeless. When you see photographs of Chanel, the clothes could practically be worn today. She is often pictured in a crewneck sweater, with pearls and cuffs piled on: she is a working woman in a sweater.Coco Chanel was living proof of her motto,"Fashion passes but style remains."

Harmony's Hell

Harmony's Hell, that's my goth name according to some generator I found.I got this dress at Old navy, and i loved the top,but the shape was bad-hence the belt. And the tights i put with this outfit because I thought it would look good with the top of the dress-i think it works.Back in the seventh grade, and sixth grade i used to wear alot of black, like dark jeans and a black tee every day.I even had black hair with red stripes-it wasn't great.I  listened to the liquid death metal-oh wait that's still what i listen to-yes i listen to music that's practically just men screaming into a microphone, of course that's not all i listen to i listen to every thing, other than rap and country(cant stand it)-sorry if you do.but the point of bringing upthe seventh grade thing is that since i used to wear so much black and am kinda like a retired goth kid and i realize that i havent completly gotten out of the dark clothing thing.i almost always put a black cardi with every outfit to darken it up.

Ive managed to get seven followers and i love you guys even though two are my sister and her friend.i just wish i could get more followers so i don't feel so stupid taking photos of myself and posting them and getting such a small response, yes i guess it could be my lack of consistency and maybe I'm just not that great.Ive been on here a while and i wonder how some of the blogger's out there get so many fans because there hardly any better than some of us less popular.because Ive read so many girls blogs and there great i follow you and now you have eight followers i don't get it,some of us should have hundreds clawing at our feet.yet still don't know if i completely deserve it but i know alot of girls do.support is what we need and we just all need to help each other out.

Fashion Passes but Style Remains

Fashion is something I don't think i truly follow, yes i wear lots of floral in the spring and summer and then darker colors in the fall and winter, but is that considered "fashion".Fashion and style are completely different things.Fashion is something that's in magazines, that's on runways, that's stylish. But style is something that stays with us forever. My style staples Id have to say would be a big cardigan and a watch.I add these two things to almost anything and i swear it makes anything me.Even if its something i  feel if-ish about adding these things can turn it in to something that fits my style.I like what I wear and what i consider my style-to be kinda nerdy and quirky. And very classic,i also like darker colors-which really isn't represented by the outfit above but most my other outfits are in a darker tone.Like the things I wear today I could wear the rest of my life-well maybe done a little differently. So out of all that babble I'm trying to say style is whats important to me. Whats more important to you?
